The activity of our organization is of course primarily focused on adult members of Roma communities. Only people over the age of 18 can apply to the municipality for the purchase of a building plot and to the bank for a housing loan. The social work of our program is also focused on adult members of the household – we go over a detailed plan of their family budget with them, educate them in the area of financial literacy, etc. Neverthles, children are part of the families we work with. We meet them all the time. Mothers bring small children to meetings and group education, fathers come with their children to build houses. Children very casually and naturally learn alongside their parents, what it means to build a family home on their own and in a legal way. In the Inclusive Neighborhoods project, we place special emphasis on a comprehensive approach and development of all hosehold members. We connect with the partner organization Cesta von, whose activity is focused on early care. We are convinced that the increased quality of housing has the greatest impact on the lives of children, their health, education and overall success in life.
